Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers. I know that I shouldn't
be surprised, but just the same, I can't believe that it's been nearly
two months since I wrote a Lesotho Update! I am ashamed that we
haven't made better use of your willingness to pray for us!
Here is a quick update of how God has answered your prayers, what we
are doing, and what we need you to pray for:
Praise:
- When we last wrote, we asked you to pray for tent meetings at
Matukeng and Ha Teko (neighboring villages where we live.) The two
weeks the tent was at Matukeng, people didn't respond well, but when we
moved the tent to Ha Teko several people got spiritual help there.
Some are coming to church regularly in spite of persecution from their
families.
- We had a good Christmas Conference. God worked in the hearts of
people, and I noticed several people who received spiritual help. One
lady who had been backslidden for several years attended the conference
and responded to an invitation to seek the Lord. Two teenage boys that
we've been praying for since they were small children went with us and
enjoyed the conference.
Prayer:
- Please continue to pray for the pastors and the church as a
whole. Some are really struggling, and Satan is taking advantage of
the situation to cause division and destruction.
- Please pray for a weekend tent meeting at Ha Thafeng this coming
weekend (22nd to the 24th of January). Also pray for Bro. Teboho, who
has just started pastoring this new congregation.
- Pray for our refrigerator! It stopped working the first week of
January and is still in the shop for repairs. Since we don't have
electricity, it runs using propane and is prone to problems.
- Please pray for Rebecca Fetzer who just arrived last week to
volunteer at the school in Ladybrand for three months
Thank you once again for your prayers and your interest in how God is
building His Kingdom in Africa. We really appreciate it!
